Our soft shackles are spliced by hand and made from locally sourced high-quality Dyneema, which is lightweight, strong, and more durable than traditional dyneema soft shackles.
We recommend using a soft shackle that is rated lighter than the recovery rope's rating or that of the anchor point on your vehicle when doing snatch recoveries. This way, the soft shackle is the weaker point and should the pulling force become too much, rather have the soft shackle break than your kinetic rope OR A PART OF YOUR VEHICLE.
Therefore, soft shackles should be seen as a consumable item in offroad recovery.
Features
Very high strength-to-weight ratio
No need to worry about rust or corrosion
Lightweight and flexible
Ideal for off-roading, these soft shackles float on water and does not submerge easily in mud.
No tools required
Maintains high strength around tight-radius bends
Low elongation
Minimal recoil at break
Abrasion-resistant
Robust tolerance for flexural fatigue
Exceptionally resistant to ultraviolet and chemical exposure.
Applications
Sailing
4x4
Vehicle Towing & Recovery
The breaking strength listed is calculated by using a formula used for soft shackles which is based on the single Dyneema rope's breaking strength, which once doubled-up, has almost double the strength, but is limited by the strength of the rope around the knot. This ratio is usually around 1.75x the single rope strength. We work on a 1.5x ratio.
*Soft shackle colors may vary from batch to batch
Legal Disclaimer
It is paramount to underscore that the improper use of kinetic ropes can pose severe risks to both individuals and property. Due to the remarkable stretch capability, exceeding 20% of its length, the kinetic energy generated during recovery or towing can surpass the structural limits of anchoring points, connectors (such as shackles), or the kinetic rope itself. This elastic property can lead to a potentially dangerous slingshot effect, resulting in significant harm or damage.
Rockspider4x4 assumes no liability for any injury or property damage arising from the use of these kinetic ropes. It is imperative to exercise extreme caution, adhere to safety guidelines, and receive proper training when employing such equipment in recovery operations. Safety should always be the foremost consideration when dealing with kinetic ropes to mitigate potential risks effectively.
